ANNOUNCING THE CONFIDENCE EMPERORS – NEW TORONTO BASED DIGITAL SINGLES LABEL
VIDEO PREMIERE FOR FIRST TRACK “LET DISCO”- GRAND ANALOG (MUNESHINE REMIX) VIA EXCLAIM!
Announcing the launch of new Toronto based digital singles, EPs and remixes label The Confidence Emperors. The new imprint will feature tracks and remixes from some of Canada’s greatest talent such as hip-hop mainstays Grand Analog and emerging synth duo Pyramid Tropic, the latest project from JUNO-award nominee Will Whitwham (the Wilderness of Manitoba) and producer/multi-instrumentalist Matthew Fudge (Grand Analog/Alphacub). The label’s upcoming releases include tracks from Chemical Dreams, Martha and the Muffins, and Ghost Caravan, among others. As a digital singles, EPs and remix label, The Confidence Emperors imprint will be a curated discovery platform, and a fresh approach to artist development.
“I’ve always believed that great artists should be able to encapsulate everything they do into a three-and-a-half-minute single,” states Graham Stairs, founder of The Confidence Emperors and Popguru Sound & Vision. “The Confidence Emperors is not only going to be a digital singles/EPs/remixes label, but also a discovery platform that curates and channels that excitement into its releases. The artists I work with are prolific and have their own studios. So, now they have an outlet for their creative urges!”
The Confidence Emperors will be hosting a Launch Party during Canadian Music Week at the Monarch Tavern on Friday, May 6th at 9PM. The launch will feature the only Toronto show from Pyramid Tropic before they head to the UK for The Great Escape Festival and a performance in London. See below for the full line up and set times.
In celebration of the label launch, The Confidence Emperors have released a Jason Cipparrone directed video for their first single “Let Disco” by Grand Analog which was remixed by acclaimed mix engineer Muneshine, who has collaborated with Pete Rock, Sean Price, DJ Spinna, and more. “Let Disco allows you to dance during heartbreak,” says Grand Analog frontman Odario Williams. “Muneshine’s remix brought hope and sunshine to a track I wrote about breaking up.” Check out the video via Exclaim! here, and stay tuned for additional announcements and exclusive releases throughout the summer!
